TEXAS LICENSE TO CARRY CLASS


*Formerly called CHL - Concealed Handgun License. With the Jan 2016 change in the law, the CHL is now called a License to Carry. This license allows both concealed and open carry.

5 hours   |   $85

Includes classroom, written examination, and shooting examination that will qualify you for your Texas License to Carry.  Curriculum is determined by the state of Texas, and will include:

  - Practical and legal considerations for carrying
  - Where you can (and can't) carry
  - De-escalation skills for prevention of violent encounters
  - What to do after an incident occurs
  - How to survive the fight after the fight (the legal aftermath)

NOTE: Attendees should already be comfortable and proficient with their firearms.  This is not a class that will teach you how to shoot.  If you're not confident with your firearm, consider our Handgun 101 or License to Carry Prep course.

- Handgun

- Sunscreen and bug repellent
- Wear clothing suitable for weather conditions (outdoors class)

PREP COURSE 

FOR LICENSE 

TO CARRY

2 hours   |   $60

Not sure you're ready to pass the firing portion of the License to Carry examination?  This course will prepare you to pass the shooting portion of the LTC process.

- Assessment of your shooting and personalized analysis
- Correctional techniques to improve accuracy
- Simulated course of fire (just like the real test!) and feedback

- Wear clothing suitable for weather conditions (outdoors class)

CONSIDERING CARRY SEMINAR

- Explore some legal questions and philosophy behind carrying
- Explore guns and equipment for carry 
- Examine pros and cons specific to carrying (legal, equipment, convenience)
- Determine what equipment should be part of your "Everyday carry."
- Learn how to get adequate training for carrying (e.g., many ranges will not allow you to draw from a holster, move, etc..., how do you overcome these obstacles to your training?)
